its a catch 22 situation:

on the one hand - you could say marriage is only a piece of paper - it makes no odds if you're married or not, if you love each other then you'll stick by eachother no matter what

on the other hand - if she loves you and is 100% committed to you and you only (which i'd expect after 8 years) then why the F wont she just "complete the circle" and commit her life to you in marriage...

if after 8 years a girl was still saying no to marrying me - i'd be a tad worried. you never know tho, i mean what about her past, her parents, her thoughts on marriage, her thoughts on the future, what does she want ....

marriage isnt the be all and end all but if you are all she wants then i dont see why shes not willing to marry after 8 years.
