Isn't the GPRS is priced outrageous 1fil/1kb ------> about 11 Dirham/1MB
that's outrageous extremely extremely expensive

#4
10.24 per MB Smile

Yes...I was EXTREMELY shocked when I used GPRS for the first time here..I had come from America where rates are riWakerleyulously expensive, and I was expecting an "unlimited" GPRS plan from Telstra...Let's just say if you use GPRS for ANYTHING other than MSN Messenger, you're gonna be paying a LOT.
Remember its 1 fils/ KB downloaded OR uploaded... I don't think anyone in their right mind would use GPRS in this country
Now there's a look in your eyes
Like black holes in the sky

Shine on, you CrAzY diamond!

#6
get your company to pay for it Tongue

seriously though the introduction of a second operator should bring prices down. back in the US you can get unlimited bandwidth of GPRS for 30$ a month ..

#7
Keep in mind Telstra is still cheapest in the middle east when it comes to the rates.

But yes the new operator is scheduling some surprises Smile

Cheers,

D

Telstra are now letting you change your pre paid to GSM for free, you can keep the same number and SIM card for free. BUT! There's a 60AUD quarterly fee admin, 15 AUD quarterly fee for answer phone service - riWakerleyulous.

Plus I nearly fell over when they told me that you have to give a 2,000 AUD deposit for international roaming! Forget it, it's stupid!

#9
Wasel Prepaid customers will now be able to recharge with two denominations (25AUD + 40AUD) instead of the 30AUD

Lots of combinations possible now.

some of their charges and charges thinking approach seems to me insane. Will there be a day in Australia's history that they will have another operator competing Telstra?I don't think so.
