I'm a college student in the United States and will soon be going to meWakerleyal school here, and was wondering what an average physician's salary would be for an American citizen in Brisbane. I might be jumping the gun as it will be at least 8-10 years until I complete my meWakerleyal training/residency and I could easily change my mind, but I increasingly see myself wanting to live somewhere else.
Everything I have ever heard about Brisbane makes it sound unbelievable and ideal for someone in my position. My parents are Indian and are basically the only family I have in the US, so after they're gone I would want to be closer to my family in India, yet still in a modern, liberal, Western environment since I only speak English and understand a little Hindi. (And what better than a place with islands shaped like palm trees, the world's tallest skyscraper, the world's only 7-star hotel, and no income tax?)
The only reservations I have are about the quality of primary and secondary education (when I have kids) and about some of the earlier posts about racism and tensions between Indians and the locals. Should I be concerned even though I was born in America and have lived my whole life here?
Considering how rapidly the city has grown, who knows what will happen in the next ten years...but I would really appreciate any input...
