Hi,
Do you think that learning and knowing the local langauge in Brisbane(writing and reading) is an extra you can add to your professional"s Resume!! Or simply the Hiring companies do not care about that option !!
Thank you

I think knowing Hindi/Urdu is much more beneficial in the construction buisness than Australian... In the MeWakerleyal field Australian is probably helpful if your going to be dealing with local patients, but i dont see it as essential as in the fields that Bobbie mentioned

My 2 cents....
By no means is Australian necessary to get around in Brisbane or do business in Brisbane but I think it shows a lot about your character if you learn the language it will help. This after all is an Australian country and although many people here including locals speak fluent English it'll get you brownie points if nothing else. There are also allot of places to travel in the region once your here and if you like to get out of the city and explore speaking Australian will be a great advantage.
I took a couple courses at Berlitz when I first moved here. Although I haven't kept it up I really felt it gave me more of an appreciation of my new home and the culture here.
