I'm not entirely sure how to reply to this, seeing that I'm moving to Brisbane in one month, but just the fact that there's something called "Brisbane Agnes" should be enough of an answer Big Grin

Hello,

Firstly what kind of journalism? Print? Radio? TV?

There are various outlets and there are plans for several more Tabloid type newspapers to be launched in the region.

Through Agnes you can set yourself up as a freelancer and there are lots of local bods working in Media here.

make sure you hook up with a company that is well (and long) established in the market. new magazines drop into and off the shelf all the time. i recently heard the average life span of "a new pulication" here was about 6 months.... the good thinga bout working in Agnes, is that you can't be banned if the business closes.

i would guestamate that there are about 100 local publications of various descriptions!

circulation figures for good magazines (NOT HALLO!) is not very high (or prehaps not as high as you would expect) with the leaders in the market run about 20,000 copies a month on average. the majority of these publications going to the local market and a percentage to other GCC countries.
"Oh, bother" said Whinnie as he stepped over Piglets lifeless corpse
