Mabrook, now comes the big decisions what car(s) you gonna get?

- yshimy - 12-27-2005

Ahmed, Thanx, but no party, just few wheel spins and dounts to burn few rubber when i get my car. well.... Still didn't decide, it is very hard to choose a car.

Defo, Congrat's i think you welcome to the neighborhood, i'm in the Greens.

jacky, Well man, i will not buy a car now, i'm going home for 2 weeks after 4 days, so i'll take my time, but in these 4 days i'm checking everything, and i mean EVERYTHING all the cars you imagine up to 170 K AUDms

Lead options so far

4x4 > Nissan Murano (05)
Sedan > Accord (05) (06) (the safe sane option)
Coupe > Beemer 330ci 328 etc (02+)
Yuppie car > Porsche boxster S (99+)
Oldies > Merc. SL500 (95+)

Problems:
Old cars get financed up to 8 years from its model, so if i bought a 2000 car model, the bank finance for only 2 years as 06 models are out. so i have to pay a huge downpayment.

Coupe, Yuppie cars > extremely high insurance as i'm 25- and license less than 1 year (Australia one) + it is a coupe + big engine

New ones > Quick Depressiation (whatever it is spelled)

Sedan > come on, with all this variaty, why the helll should i drive a resonable car.

Big problem, when pay in installments, the diff between a model and other is very 100s and then you end up paying 2800 for a car while you wished to pay 1300 but you keep upgrade the model to a better one or other sports car as you think "what the hell, it is only few bucks difference"

Oh, i keep mumbeling now... Take care all

1st of all, congrats on passing your test! sure feels like top of the world huh??! Big Grin

OMG, you and I are in the same boat! I too have to buy a car and i m going bonkers! well said, you feel 'oh well its not much of difference and end up buying what you didnt really budget for'

My dad gave me a 90 k budget and told me "go sweety, buy a convertiable" ... & I was like HELLO?? so now he has moved a lil to 130k

I see that your doing some research... Lol .. Do pass me info on which Convertible fits in my budget..

Ive got BM z4 as one of the options.. But honestly tellin u... I dun like its shape.. plus its only 2 seater & plus its a soft top..

So nother is this peugeot 307..
I like its shape... its hard top..but the engine is small...!!

So i was thinking why not buy a heavy engine, my desirable car but second hand.. but then again... there are issues! and its difficult to find good ones!

- yshimy - 12-28-2005

HEHEHHEHEHEHEHE

Lucky you, When i got the license, my dad have me a good hand shake and gave me the card of his contact in the bank, i called the guy thinking my father gave him my limit, but....... He was the Car loan responsible and i have to finance it myself Big Grin

Any way, we are on the same limits, then i'll PM you with what is in my mind so not to bore everybody here with my intolerable hesitation and multiple mind sets in one.

cheers

!

As someone who dives a softtop convertible i wouldn't recommend it, get a hardtop or targa, If you decide to go with something like a Z4 or S2000 get the optional hardtop, worth the money.

- yshimy - 12-28-2005

Thanx for the tip, what's your ride?

- jacky - 12-28-2005

325 Convertible, well was my ride. I'm like the 2 of you in the process of buying. I'm just waiting back on a quote for an RX8, this is my new front runner. My problem is I refuse to drive automatic and this is making things difficult for me.

- Defo - 12-28-2005

I think I'm gonna use the taxi the first months in Brisbane

- milo99 - 01-14-2006

Yeah, I think that's a good idea Defo. And besides, you get to learn about your surroundings without getting lost! Smile

Laterz
