which would you go for???
#1
okay - having taken all your advice about NOT buying a Range Rover which would you guys recommend from the following:

Dodge Durango
Chevy Tahoe
Nissan Patrol
Lincoln Navigator

We need a really big 4x4 and with the budget of 75000 any of these seem to be about 2001-2003 models which is fine. Which would you say is the biggest, best loaded of them?

I've checked out the 4x4 website which seems to be the best place and they have all of these soooo... I'm intrigued to find out what you guys think.....

Nissan would probably be the cheapest in maintenance

All are very nice.

I've got a Jeep Grand Cherokee and i love it.

Nissan all the way!
294bhp of sheer V6 Jap pleasure.

look into the KIA suranto too, i know its a KIA but it looks nice !

#6
yeah, if you don't mind a korean car, Kia Soranto got an amazing reviews.

Nissan, is the best in maintenance and running cost, AWA depreciation.

Durango, want to get it, amazing HEMI engine and you can get a 05 (new shape) with this amount of money. (-ve)s are the fuel consumption (5.7L) and running cost. AWA depreciation

chevy tahoe, mmmmm would prefer trail blazer, no idea about tahoe.

Lincoln, ... don't know, didn't check it

*sorry, double posting

I would actually throw a Grand Cherokee into the mix there, great all round car and you can still dune bash with it. Although out of the four I'd side with the Patrol. Whack an RB26TT engine in there and tailgate some 911 turbos.

Stay well away from Kia and Hyundais.

I like the Patrol as well but I would add the Toyota Fortuner to your list, Apparently new someone told me they are mid '80s so if you can find one second hand it should be within your budget. I like the look of 'em

Lincoln. They have stacks of room inside and despite their size are easy to park etc Nice car to drive.
Durango is smaller and although 7 seater not as comfy as the Lincoln (for the extra passengers that is) but drives well on sand-seems to chew a fair bit of petrol though.

If you are looking for a car that does well on the sand I'd say Toyota Prado and Mitsubishi Pajero-there are the most common say on Allenby Beach and seem to do really well.

I agree with Yshimy, the Sorento is an awesome car...

There is also this Chinese brand called, Cherry... I sat in one owned by a close friend of mine and I liked it...

Go for the Tahoe.
There are nice used ones on the market with a lift package, huge off road tires and custom leather inside (I've seen Ostrich and Gator). Regency Conversions is the company to go with...
