Hi everyone, my name is Jay. I'm a full-time student from Singapore. Sometime around the end of this year, I'll probably be heading to Brisbane to do my internship with University of Brisbane (hopefully).
Just a little background here, although our monthly salary here in Singapore varies from SGD$1,200 to SGD$2,500 for the average family but we get by easy because meals here cost as cheap as SGD$3 to SGD$5.
I'm currently weighing my options between an internship in Australia or Japan because my family isn't that well to do but my parents have agreed to give me about SGD$700 each month for my internship which comes down to about AUD636.
I was just wondering if that would be sufficient for me to survive for each month and still have enough for some recreation. As for lodging, I'll need to pay about AUD40 each week so it's about AUD160 off my budget.
That would roughly leave with AUD500 to spend each month. My question is, would that be enough for survival?
Thanks!
