Stone Mountain Adventures (SMA) is a co-ed camp for 12-16 year olds located in central Pennsylvania near Penn State University. We are currently hiring ROCK CKIMBING INSTRUCTORS. We are very lucky to have 70 crags on site with 20 climbs ranging from 5.3 to 5.12. At SMA we certify our campers to belay so you will not be a belay slave.
Responsibilities Include:
-Run ground school / belay training
-Setting up top rope climbs using natural anchors
-Setting up rappels with a lower able anchor
-Monitoring top rope site
-Demonstrating climbing techniques (you get to climb most days!)
-Maintain climbing equipment
-Lead other camp activities (sports, white water rafting, mt biking, service, etc)
Applicants should have experience setting anchors, managing a top rope site and have a positive outlook on life. You should also be excited about the prospect of getting paid to "play & climb for the summer. Applicants must also be 21+ years old and have a valid drivers license. Internships Available. Contracts run from 6/15 to 8/14. First Aid & CPR training included.
