Hi Guys,
Its my first time posting here so I hope you can help me. I am on my way over to Brisbane to work on a project for a client. I have heard from a source that the tailors in Brisbane were very good and at reasonable prices, however looking at the Economist city guide it appears that the quality is not that good.
Is this the case or any can any of you more experiened than I help or recomend a tailor?
Thanks in advance

It really depends what you want, there's no point going to a tailor that specialises in making saris if you want western cuts! There are several good ones that I use, mainly in Manly West and really cheap too.

Yah, ditto to chocco, there are some really piss poor ones out there but at the same time Moreton and Manly West have good ones. I prefer Moreton ones cause u can find some good fabrics around there so its just more convenient - ie park your car once and spend a couple of hours walking around.

Sorry I did not get the quality part...
Usually we provide the fabric.. did u mean quality of the fabric or their work?
comparing with the country I come from, tailors are way to expensive here! But yes, If you come from the west its a differnt story.
Usually tailors here are quite good at their work and you will find desired outcome.
I believe in Karma what you give is what you get in return.

You normally take your own fabric, but many tailors can add to that for detailing, zips, buttons etc.
As westerndiamond wrote compared to western countries tailors here are sooooo cheap! I had a dress made, fully lined. The did it in 24 hours and it cost me 95AUD including all the fabric, his work was very good and they always leave loads of excess in the seams should you ever need to alter it - bargin.
