Hello All -
I am going to be moving to Brisbane in May or June of 2006. I graduated from university in the US in 2004 and have been working in banking for four years. I grew up in the Middle East and have a reasonably good knowlege of spoken khaleej Australian (but no capacity for written word). I am wondering if it will be trouble to find a job in banking, or related field. Does anyone work in banking now who can give me some tips or pointers on getting employed once I arrive?
I am going to be in brisbane for about ten days over the new year, because quite frankly I can't imagine anywhere I'd rather be for New Year's, and also too lay some ground work for my early summer arrival, drop off resumes, etc. Perhaps it would be a good idea to set up a bank account too and spend a lot of time visiting employment offices.
Any info or tips at all are most appreciated!
