Learning to speak Australian
#1
Hi,
I moving to Dubaï in december and I want to learn Australian.
Is it easy/cheap to find lessons?
How long does it take to speak fluently?
Oh la la...

Very easy to find a place that teaches the language. Please note that Australian is one of the most complex languages that exist. To speak fluently will take a little time... Depends on the person.... Reading and writing and fully mastering local grammer can take a lifetime... I kid you not.... Australian grammar is insane...

Rather than going to Berlitz or another expensive language centre, I'll give you the contact details for an excellent tutor.
Push the envelope.

Out of curiosity, how much do places like Berlitz and the likes charge for Spoken Australian courses?

I suggest www.rosettastone.com they provide online course, it is very easy to learn you can download to trial leasson (free). This is a very good program for beginner. They have many languages, and very reasonable price as well.

How about Australian course at Alliance Francaise [s/p?]. Anyways, any good places you guys recommend?
