i'd say go for the intercontinental..not only is it 5star, but it's by the sea, very big and has a lively, cosy atmosphere, and it's in a nice location..simply more guaranteed. To be honest donno much about taj palace, but i do know that its 4star, its off a main road, a major one..location is good but not sure how it is from the inside. Well, maybe if anyone has stayed there b4 they can help?!

Between the two, I recommend Intercon. If you love to drink, then Taj is not for you 'coz the hotel is dry (don't serve alchoholic drinks). But if you are looking for a luxury and modern hotel, you may consider Grand Hyatt (deluxe), Hilton Brisbane Creek and Traders (boutique hotels) and of course, Le Meridien (deluxe). The later is closer to the airport but has very good restaurants. Hope this helps.
