- Choko - 08-17-2005 Hiya, In a word no I would not meet people through a dating site, I managed to meet my boyfriend on a night out with friends. Although out of curiosity I have looked at some dating sites for people in Australia through work as we have open access and none of the sites are blocked, and I have to say I was quite surprised at the people registered, they are mostly of asian / indian origin and mostly looking for loose casual relationships or just some 'Fun'! Found it a bit weird. The majority of people were very good looking, good jobs etc of course you never really know whether someone has put their correct details on or just made stuff up to appeal without meeting them. I don't think dating sites are an ideal way to meet people, but then in this day and age, what is? But I thought there would have been a bigger mixture of nationalities on the sites. - stainless - 08-17-2005 Alcoholic Wrote:Hiya, Hi Choc, Thanks, interesting that you met your bf out with friends... was he part of the group, at a private party, or club/restaurant scene? Yes, I have looked at Match.com and was surprised at the asians there. I can only assume one of two things. Either they work in Australia at locations that by pass the proxies and have time to post or that the site has posted "questionable" (fake) postings to get other people to join, as most people would join first and then search... they would join after they see someone that would justify the cost. Choc. do you feel that the internet is a good place to meet and get to know people? Can you ask your friends what are their thoughts or are most of them online here? Ciao bella, Stainless |
